3:4 = 6:8

[tex] \frac{3}{4} = \frac{6}{8} [/tex]

The same principle is used with fractions. The identity property of multiplication states that any number times 1 is the same number. Since [tex] \frac{2}{2} [/tex] = 1, the fraction/ratio does not change in value.
